Downtown San Antonio gets a new holiday headquarters this season. Holidays at Hemisfair brings a festive market, seasonal food and drink, family activities and Skate the City — the downtown ice-skating experience returning with support from the San Antonio Parks Foundation — to Civic Park at Hemisfair.
The celebration adds a fresh chapter to a park district that already packs a full family day into a few walkable blocks: the splash pads and climbing play spaces of Yanaguana Garden, the lawns of Civic Park and the Tower of the Americas rising next door. Families can skate, browse local vendors for gifts, warm up with seasonal treats and linger as the downtown lights come on.
Hemisfair sits at the southeastern edge of downtown, an easy walk from the River Walk, so a skating session pairs naturally with an evening stroll along the water. Bundle up, bring the kids and let the season start outdoors.
