Atlanta is about to fall in love all over again. Zoo Atlanta has announced the date every panda fan has been waiting for: male Ping Ping and female Fu Shuang will make their public debut on Friday, November 6, 2026, in the all-new Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove.
The two giant pandas arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on September 27, and after a routine quarantine period they will move into their brand-new, $6 million home. The renovated grove features climbing structures, private pools in each dayroom, playful water features and a sculpture celebrating the panda as a global ambassador of peace and harmony.
Born in 2020 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Ping Ping (whose name means “peace”) and Fu Shuang (“double blessing”) are here through a new ten-year conservation agreement. With their arrival, Zoo Atlanta becomes one of only three zoos in the United States to house giant pandas, and the only one in the Southeast.
The habitat’s name honors Arthur Blank’s longtime support of the panda program, dating back to 1999, while the renovation was made possible by a grant from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation. Mark your calendar: the countdown to panda pandemonium is officially on.
