Boo at the Zoo Brings Five Days of Family Halloween Fun to Zoo Atlanta

Halloween is getting a wild new twist in Atlanta! Zoo Atlanta’s Boo at the Zoo, the city’s favorite family Halloween festival, returns this October bigger than ever — with five full days of treats, costumes and playful spooks on October 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Families can wander the Zoo collecting candy along the Kids’ Trick-or-Treat Lane, featuring a dozen treat stations (one sweet treat per station, while supplies last), get creative with Halloween-themed crafts, and try their luck at carnival games for petrifying prizes. Costumed characters stroll the Zoo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., ready for perfect photo opportunities, and family-friendly performances round out the day.

The celebration is all giggles, no gore: decorations feature mostly friendly spooks, and costumes — encouraged but not required — must be family-friendly. Even the animals join the fun, with keepers offering pumpkin treats to the Zoo’s wild residents. The event is rain-or-shine, though some activities may be delayed in heavy rain.

Best of all, Boo at the Zoo is free for Zoo Atlanta members and children under 3, and included with general admission for everyone else. Presented by Georgia Natural Gas, the festival takes place at Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, in historic Grant Park.
