It’s a Beautiful Day to Be You: Mister Rogers, Daniel Tiger and Donkey Hodie Take Over the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh families have a brand-new reason to head to the North Side. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh — voted the #1 children’s museum in America in USA Today’s 2026 Readers’ Choice poll — has opened It’s a Beautiful Day to Be You: Inspired by Mister Rogers, Daniel Tiger & Donkey Hodie, a hands-on traveling exhibit created in partnership with Fred Rogers Productions. It runs daily through January 3, 2027.

Inside, children step into beloved places from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Donkey Hodie while soaking up the timeless lessons of Mister Rogers. The exhibit is built around six character traits — being kind, curious, persistent, creative, collaborative and brave — and kids practice them by doing, sharing and playing, not just listening.

Favorite stops include the Enchanted Garden, where a little love and water makes a flower bloom; Purple Panda’s Spaceship Dance Party, where young DJs push pegs, pull levers and press buttons to mix their own out-of-this-world music; and a ride through Trolley’s magical tunnel, following the star lights from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe to Someplace Else.

Mark the calendar for the special “Beautiful Day at the Museum” celebrations on Saturday, November 14, Wednesday, November 18, Saturday, December 12 and Wednesday, December 16, with costume character appearances at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and art-and-making activities. The museum, at 10 Children’s Way in Allegheny Commons, is open Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — and every day really is a beautiful day to be you.
