When the dome goes dark, Tampa’s other sky lights up. The Saunders Planetarium at MOSI — Tampa’s only planetarium — flies visitors from the night sky over their own backyard to the edges of the known universe, in live-presented and full-dome shows for all ages.
Local astronomers guide the evening sky programs, pointing out the planets and constellations visible from Bay area backyards that week, while immersive films dive into black holes, Apollo history and the search for exoplanets. School and scout programs keep the dome busy by day.
It’s the perfect pairing with a MOSI day — physics on the floor, astronomy on the ceiling.
Florida skies are famously big. The Saunders is where Tampa learns to read them.
