Every great Florida city deserves a front porch, and Tampa built its along the river. The Tampa Riverwalk links 2.6 miles of waterfront through downtown — from the Heights’ Armature Works lawn to the Florida Aquarium — passing museums, parks, hotels and the city’s living history along the way.
Walkers, joggers and cyclists share the wide path past Curtis Hixon Park’s lawns, the Tampa Museum of Art’s glowing terraces, monument walks honoring Tampa’s leaders, and the Cotanchobee Fort Brooke parkland where the city began. River taxis and pirate water taxis ply the Hillsborough alongside.
Come at sunset, when the minarets of Plant Hall catch fire across the water and downtown lights up for the evening.
It’s free, it’s flat, it’s open all day — the Riverwalk is Tampa at its happiest.
