There is a beautiful new reason to visit Woodland Park Zoo this fall: from October 27 through November 1, the zoo invites families to celebrate Día de Muertos with a special Animal Ofrenda, a colorful tribute dedicated to the pets and animals who have touched our lives.
The vibrant altar, decorated with flowers, candles and traditional crafts, creates a warm space to pause, remember and celebrate the companions who left paw prints on our hearts. It is a moving way to share one of Mexico’s most beloved traditions with the whole family, right in the heart of Seattle.
The Animal Ofrenda is on display during regular zoo hours, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Woodland Park Zoo, 5500 Phinney Ave. N. It is the perfect centerpiece for a fall visit, alongside the zoo’s seasonal pumpkin festivities and its beloved animals from around the world.
A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Woodland Park Zoo has been caring for wildlife and connecting people with nature for generations. This celebration is one more way it brings the community together around love, memory and conservation.
