The Seattle Symphony is wrapping up the sweetest musical gift of the season for its littlest listeners. The Tiny Tots series returns to Benaroya Hall with “The Strings: Holiday String-Along” on December 11 and 12, turning the hall into a magical winter wonderland made of music, laughter and sing-alongs.
Designed especially for children ages 0 to 5, these bite-sized concerts last about 30 minutes — just right for young ears and wiggly feet. Seattle Symphony musicians lead a string quartet through classic holiday sing-alongs and beloved seasonal favorites, weaving stories, songs and musical games into the show so the youngest listeners can discover the instruments of the orchestra up close.
The fun starts before the first note: every Tiny Tots performance includes free pre-concert activities 30 minutes before showtime in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby, with instrument discovery, a reading station, crafts and a percussion play area. Borrowable fidgets, wobble cushions and noise-reducing headphones at the coat check make every concert neuro-inclusive for all families.
Performances take place Friday, December 11 at 10:30 a.m., and Saturday, December 12 at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tickets are about $16, and every family gets a first-row feeling — because at a Tiny Tots concert, the littlest audience members are the stars of the show.
