Pacific Northwest Ballet Brings The Nutcracker Back to Seattle Center for the Holidays

Seattle, the holiday magic is coming back to the ballet stage! Pacific Northwest Ballet presents George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, running November 27 through December 27, 2026, at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall in Seattle Center.

For more than a decade, PNB’s sparkling production has been one of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite holiday traditions, whisking audiences from a glittering lobby straight into Clara’s candy-filled adventure. Tchaikovsky’s timeless score is performed live by the world-famous PNB Orchestra, while PNB Company dancers and bright young stars of the PNB School bring the story to life in the show-stopping choreography of George Balanchine.

The production features unique-to-Seattle sets and costumes designed by Ian Falconer, creator of Olivia the Pig, and McCaw Hall’s lobbies decked out with the season’s best photo ops. The running time is 2 hours and 3 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission.

PNB is also making the magic accessible to everyone: audio-described performances for blind and visually impaired patrons are scheduled on December 4, 5 and 11, with subsidized tickets at $20 per ticket plus one companion.

From sugar plum-perfect dancing to holiday cheer around every corner, this is the perfect plan for a family night out in Seattle this December. Happy holidays, Seattle!
