San Francisco filmmakers, get your stories ready. The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) has opened the call for entries for CAAMFest 2027, the 45th edition of the nation’s leading showcase for Asian and Asian American film, music, food and innovation, currently scheduled for May 13-16, 2027, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Submissions opened on October 15 through FilmFreeway, and the early bird deadline is November 16, 2026, so creators who submit soon benefit from reduced entry fees. The festival accepts narrative and documentary features and shorts, including student films, and entrants will be notified of selections in early April 2027.
Presented by CAAM, a nonprofit that has championed Asian American storytelling since 1980, CAAMFest has been a launching point for independent filmmakers since 1982. Each May it brings together audiences from across the Bay Area and beyond for screenings, dynamic events and industry panels that celebrate the richness and diversity of the Asian diaspora.
If you have a film in the works, this is the moment to finish it. Questions about the call for entries can be sent to the festival team at [email protected].
