San Francisco is glowing a little brighter this fall! The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) has opened “RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,” the very first museum exhibition drawn from the personal art collection of RM, leader of global phenomenon BTS. On view from October 3, 2026 through February 7, 2027 on Floor 7, it marks the show’s only presentation in the United States.
Curated by RM himself together with SFMOMA co-curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim, the exhibition brings together nearly 180 works by Korean and international artists — roughly 150 from RM’s own collection alongside treasures from the museum’s holdings. Many pieces have never been shown publicly in the U.S. before, making this one of the most expansive presentations of modern and contemporary Korean art ever mounted in the country.
Korean masters such as Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Chang Ucchin and Kim Whanki share the walls with beloved SFMOMA icons including Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Georgia O’Keeffe, Yves Klein and Nam June Paik, creating joyful, unexpected conversations across cultures and generations.
In a warm personal touch, RM wrote the exhibition’s wall texts by hand and recorded the audio guide in both Korean and English, sharing his own reflections on each work. “My only hope is that this exhibition can be a small but sturdy bridge for many,” he said.
Opening weekend tickets sold out in a flash, but plenty of tickets remain from October 5 through February 7 — especially on weekdays. The special exhibition is $10 on weekdays and $12 on weekends and holidays, and free for members.
