All aboard, San Diego families! October is Kids Month aboard the USS Midway Museum, and that means your little ones can climb aboard one of the city’s most beloved landmarks without paying a dime. From October 1 through October 31, 2026, up to two kids ages 4 to 12 receive FREE admission with every full-priced adult ticket. It is the happiest way to explore a real aircraft carrier together.
Adventure, discovery, and imagination are cleared for takeoff! Young aviators can roam more than 30 locations on a fun audio tour led by Airman Sam Rodriguez, complete tasks, answer questions, and earn their very own Junior Pilot Wings, awarded personally by the museum’s volunteer Docents in their famous yellow hats.
Hands-on activities, thrilling flight simulators, immersive exhibits, and over 20 beautifully restored carrier aircraft await on the flight deck. Kids can step inside helicopter cockpits, peek into the secrets of the ship’s Carrier Intelligence Center, and journey from the bridge all the way down to the engine room, experiencing the sights, sounds, and aromas of U.S. Naval history.
There is no better excuse for a family day out in San Diego: a floating piece of American history, endless things to touch and try, and free admission for the kids. October only, aboard the USS Midway at Navy Pier.
