Living History Comes Alive at the Alamo with “Revolution Arrives: Siege of Béxar”

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, Alamo Plaza will travel back in time to 1835 with “Revolution Arrives: Siege of Béxar,” a free living history event that brings the opening chapter of the Texas Revolution to life.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Alamo’s living historians will immerse visitors in the story of the Siege of Béxar, the first major conflict of the Texas Revolution, when Texian volunteers surrounded the city of San Antonio de Béxar and forced the Mexican Army’s retreat.

The family-friendly celebration features musket firing demonstrations and three immersive camps representing the Texian Army, the Soldados, and the Civilians living at the dawn of the Revolution. It is a rare chance to meet the soldiers, settlers, and citizens whose choices shaped San Antonio’s story — and to learn history up close, not from a textbook.

The event is completely free and open to all ages at Alamo Plaza, 300 Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio. Whether you’re a history buff, a teacher looking for an unforgettable lesson, or a family searching for a weekend plan with meaning, the Alamo’s living historians will make 1835 feel like yesterday.

Happy City News invites you to step into history on November 7 and discover why San Antonio’s past still echoes through its plaza.
