Luminaria 2026 Lights Up Houston Street for One Free Night of Art

San Antonio’s brightest night of the year is almost here! On Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, the Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival will transform Houston Street into a glowing canvas of creativity — and admission is completely free.

This beloved one-night, outdoor, nighttime festival has dazzled the city since 2008, and this year’s edition lands at the intersection of Downtown West and Zona Cultural, in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Guests can wander between anchor locations — including the Centro/Art Everywhere Project, Texas Public Radio, San Pedro Creek, the Alameda Theatre, Paseo on Houston, and the Institute of Texan Cultures — where the streets come alive with live music, film, digital art, poetry, theater, fine art, monumental installations, and dance.

Each year, Luminaria pays honorariums to hundreds of local and visiting artists, turning buildings into canvases with digital projections, laser shows, light installations, aerial performances, and interactive works that the whole family can touch, walk through, and enjoy up close — no art degree required. It’s art you stumble across and carry home in your heart.

The festival is presented by the Luminaria arts nonprofit together with partners including the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture, the San Antonio River Foundation, the San Antonio River Authority, the Majestic Theatre, and Texas Public Radio. Mark your calendar, wear comfortable shoes, and get ready for an unforgettable evening under the San Antonio sky.
