Thanksgiving weekend at Heinz Hall comes with a feast. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s BNY Classics series presents Strauss and Tchaikovsky on November 27 and 29, 2026, with Music Director Manfred Honeck conducting and pianist Alexander Malofeev as soloist.
Honeck — whose partnership with the PSO has made the orchestra one of the most acclaimed in America, with a shelf of Grammy-winning recordings — pairs the Viennese glow of Strauss with Tchaikovsky’s big-hearted drama, and Malofeev, one of the most electrifying young pianists on the circuit, brings the fireworks. It is the kind of program Heinz Hall was restored to hold.
Performances are Friday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 29 at 2:30 p.m. at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Avenue downtown. Tickets at pittsburghsymphony.org.
