‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Flies with the PSO at Heinz Hall November 20 & 22

Hiccup, Toothless and a full symphony orchestra: the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s PSO at the Movies series presents How to Train Your Dragon at Heinz Hall on November 20 and 22, 2026 — the beloved animated adventure on the big screen with its Oscar-nominated score performed live.

John Powell’s music — Celtic-tinged, soaring and impossible not to hum — is the beating heart of the film, and hearing it from the PSO turns a family favorite into an event. Movie concerts are many Pittsburgh kids’ first symphony, and the dragon-sized emotions explain why: when the orchestra lifts off with Toothless, so does the whole hall.

Performances are Friday, November 20 and Sunday, November 22 at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Avenue downtown. Showtimes and tickets at pittsburghsymphony.org — these sell quickly.
