Dinosaurs in the Desert Roar Back Into the Phoenix Zoo Through April 2027

Breaking news from the prehistoric past: dinosaurs have taken over the Phoenix Zoo! Extinction is officially overrated, because these magnificent giants have returned in a bigger herd than ever — and they’re here to stay for months of family fun.

From now through April 30, 2027, every visit to the Phoenix Zoo becomes a journey back in time. Life-size dinosaurs, bones and ancient beasts have rejoined their descendants along every trail, and kids can unleash their inner dinosaur expert by digging for fossils, posing for selfies with their favorite dino and exploring interactive Dino Dig Pits.

The adventure goes far beyond the dinosaurs themselves: families can enjoy dino rides, a Selfie Eggs-perience, carnival games, arts and crafts, and even grab dino nuggets at Dino Bites. There’s a collectible commemorative photo to take home and the Dino Outpost shop is stocked with prehistoric souvenirs.

Happy City News loves that the Zoo also thought of everyone: on the 9th of each month, a sensory-friendly morning (8 to 10 a.m.) turns off dinosaur movement and sounds for a calmer visit. The exhibit is included with general admission or membership — no extra ticket needed.

With more than 3,000 animals and nearly 400 species, the Phoenix Zoo is already one of the largest nonprofit zoos in the country. Add a herd of roaring dinosaurs, and it becomes the most thrilling family outing in the Valley this season. Grab your explorer hat and plan your visit today!
