Encanto Park: The Oasis of Central Phoenix

Right in the heart of the city, 222 acres of green grass, sparkling water, and century-old trees make Encanto Park feel like a little miracle in the middle of the desert!

This historic city park centers on Encanto Lake, where families can fish, rent pedal boats, or simply feed the ducks along the shore. There’s a classic amusement area with a carousel and train beloved by generations of kids, plus sports fields, shaded picnic ramadas, playgrounds, and a nature trail. The park’s lush lagoons and mature palms attract ducks, turtles, and great blue herons — a wildlife show in the middle of the city.

It’s ideal for family picnics, birthday parties, weekend sports, and easy morning walks. Practical tip: arrive early on weekends for the best picnic ramadas, and bring bread-free snacks for the ducks — leafy greens and peas are much healthier for them. Free admission, free parking.
