Taliesin West Calls on Artists for Its Artist-in-Residence Program

Scottsdale’s legendary desert campus is calling on artists. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has opened its Call for Artists for the Artist-in-Residence series at Taliesin West, inviting emerging and mid-career creators from every creative field to spend two weeks inside one of architecture’s most iconic laboratories.

Each residency cycle gives one artist private furnished living quarters plus full access to the site and grounds of Wright’s winter camp — the place where the desert itself became his canvas and which today holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Artists are encouraged to explore the buildings, the history, and the surrounding Sonoran landscape, then respond to the experience by creating entirely new work.

During their stay, residents share their creative practice and process with Foundation staff in an internal presentation event, and are welcome to later submit proposals for a future exhibition as part of the “Inspired By” Artist in Residence Series, which brings Taliesin West-inspired works to the public.

Through this program, the Foundation keeps Wright’s legacy of daily creativity and experimentation alive on-site, cultivating a growing community of artists and a deeper understanding of a better world shaped by his ideas. Application details are available on the Foundation’s website.
