Longwood Gardens Turns Emerald for an Oz-tacular Fountain Fest Weekend This October

Follow the yellow brick road straight to Kennett Square this October! Longwood Gardens is rolling out a brand-new Fountain Fest theme for 2026: Emerald City Weekend, October 16–18, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm each evening — and it’s free with Gardens admission.

The centerpiece is “Journey to Oz,” an all-new Illuminated Fountain Performance debuting this year. Each night at 8:15 pm, hundreds of fountains dance in emerald greens, pinks, and golds to music inspired by the Land of Oz, inside Longwood’s famous Main Fountain Garden.

There’s so much more to enjoy: Caribbean steel-pan music from Terra Soul in the Beer Garden, Oz melodies ringing from the 62-bell Chimes Tower carillon, themed organ demos in the Conservatory Ballroom, playful Oz-inspired treats, and early-evening hours to climb the Chimes Tower for stunning golden-hour views.

Timed admission tickets are required, so plan ahead — and if you can’t make the Emerald City, the magic continues the following weekend with Spellbound Weekend (October 23–25), featuring the family-favorite Halloween Magic.
