America’s 250th birthday party is far from over — and nobody celebrates it quite like Philadelphia. Visit Philadelphia has unveiled a festive fall-and-winter lineup keeping the milestone celebration going in the birthplace of the nation, with milestone moments for visitors and residents alike.
History lovers can dive into The Declaration’s Journey at the Museum of the American Revolution (through January 3, 2027), exploring how the Declaration’s ideas shaped independence movements in more than 100 nations. The yearlong 52 Weeks of Firsts continues with free Saturday Firstivals celebrating Philadelphia innovations — from the first public motion picture showing to the first Thanksgiving Day parade. Art fans get the 50th Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show (November 6–8) with 195 artists, plus Noguchi to Asawa at the Barnes.
Prefer living history? Revolutionary Philadelphia: 1776 (October 17–18) recreates the city as the headquarters of the Revolution, with free plaza programming. Movie buffs can join the Rocky 50th anniversary season all fall, and everyone is invited to the 74th Annual Christmas Day Crossing Reenactment on December 25 — free admission as hundreds of reenactors recreate Washington’s daring Delaware crossing, 250 years later.
From cheesesteaks to founding fathers, Philly is where America comes to celebrate itself.
