New Dendrology: Eleven Artists Celebrate the Secret Life of Trees at Central Park’s Arsenal Gallery

There is a quiet revolution happening among the trees of Central Park — and it is pure poetry. “New Dendrology,” a new group exhibition at the Arsenal Gallery, brings together eleven artists whose work celebrates trees and invites us to see our leafy neighbors in a whole new light.

On view weekdays through November 6, the free exhibition explores the deep connection between humans and the arboreal world. Visitors can commune with street trees through a reading with The New York City Street Tree Tarot deck by Matthew López-Jensen, or witness commitment ceremonies officiated by artist Laura Nova — playful, heartfelt rituals that turn a walk in the park into a love letter to nature.

Set inside the historic Arsenal building at Fifth Avenue and 64th Street, the show is a reminder that art does not only live in grand museums: sometimes it grows, branch by branch, right outside our window. Admission is free, and the trees are waiting.
