The Louisiana Children’s Museum found its dream home in City Park: 8.5 acres of indoor-outdoor play where New Orleans children climb, build, pretend and splash through exhibits rooted in Louisiana life, from a kid-sized French Quarter market to a Mississippi River towboat.
Inside, young chefs serve pretend po’boys, toddlers rule their own Lil’ Lagniappe play zone, and the Edible Garden and sensory gardens outside teach where food comes from — with real digging allowed.
Paired with Storyland and the park’s oaks next door, it’s the happiest cluster in New Orleans childhood — a museum that understands play is serious business.
