Good news for art lovers: one of New Orleans’ sweetest traditions is back for its 19th year. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s Center for Southern Craft & Design presents Art of the Cup 2026, the beloved annual juried exhibition celebrating the humble cup as a work of art — on view from October 24 through December 7 at the Museum Store on Camp Street.
This year’s edition is juried by Ina Kaur, Curator of Creative Practice at the Newcomb Art Museum and an interdisciplinary artist and educator who now calls New Orleans home. Since its launch, Art of the Cup has showcased more than 1,044 cups and teapots by world-class Southern ceramicists — and the best part is that every piece is available for purchase, so visitors can take home a one-of-a-kind treasure.
Mark your calendar: the exhibition opens with a festive reception on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 6 p.m. And here’s a lovely local perk — admission on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is free for Louisiana residents, courtesy of The Helis Foundation. Come raise a cup (a beautiful handmade one) to Southern craft at its finest.
