The sounds of Havana are coming to Canal Street! The Tony® and GRAMMY® Award-winning musical Buena Vista Social Club arrives in New Orleans for one week only, December 8–13, 2026, as part of the Broadway in New Orleans season at the historic Saenger Theatre.
Inspired by the legendary 1996 album, the show follows iconic Cuban singer Omara Portuondo — once celebrated across Cuba as the “Queen of Feeling” — as an ambitious young record producer draws her back into the studio and she finally reckons with her past. It is a journey through music and memory into the beating heart of Havana: a tale of big dreams, second chances, and music that needs no translation.
The North American touring company brings the story to life with a world-class cast and a live onstage band of renowned Afro-Cuban musicians. The creative team features a book by Marco Ramirez, direction by Saheem Ali, and choreography by Justin Peck and Patricia Delgado — and The Washington Post hailed it as a “jaw-dropping, soul-stirring must see.”
Performances run Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (2 hours 10 minutes with one intermission; recommended for ages 8 and up). Tickets are on sale now through Broadway in New Orleans and the Saenger Theatre box office — the perfect holiday-season night out in the Crescent City.
