The Serengeti comes to life in downtown New Orleans this fall! Disney’s The Lion King, the six-time Tony Award-winning musical, takes the stage at the historic Saenger Theatre from October 21 through November 8, 2026, as part of the Entergy Broadway in New Orleans season.
Directed by the legendary Julie Taymor, this breathtaking production fills the theater with giraffes strutting, birds swooping and gazelles leaping across the stage, all set to the unforgettable music of Elton John and Tim Rice. From the thunderous opening of “Circle of Life” to the slow rise of Pride Rock, audiences of all ages are swept into Simba’s epic journey from carefree cub to proud king.
The three-week engagement is perfect family entertainment and one of the season’s biggest theatrical events in the city. The Saenger’s gorgeous 1920s-era auditorium makes an ideal setting for this larger-than-life spectacle, right in the heart of the city near the French Quarter.
Tickets for Disney’s The Lion King are on sale now through the official box office at saengernola.com. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Don’t miss your chance to experience the circle of life right here in New Orleans!
