Walk in Easy Company’s Footsteps: WWII Challenge Returns for the 25th Anniversary of “Band of Brothers”

History buffs and fitness lovers, this one’s for you! The National WWII Museum and the Crescent City Classic have teamed up once again for the seventh annual WWII Challenge, a one-of-a-kind virtual fitness event that turns a workout routine into a journey through history.

This year’s edition is extra special: it honors the 25th anniversary of HBO’s beloved miniseries Band of Brothers with a brand-new theme — “Easy Company”, following the paratroopers of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. The challenge runs from October 1, 2026, through February 14, 2027, and you can join from anywhere in the world.

Here’s how it works: walk, run, bike, or hit the treadmill, and log your miles as you virtually retrace the unit’s legendary route — from training at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, across 13 historic milestones including England, Normandy, the Netherlands, Bastogne, and the Bavarian Alps. At each milestone, you’ll unlock the story of what Easy Company experienced there. Choose the 103-mile individual course or gather your friends for the 730-mile team course!

Finishers earn an exclusive branded T-shirt, a finisher’s medallion, a virtual bib, and 25% off general admission to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Best of all, a portion of every registration and 100% of donations support the Museum’s educational mission. Over the first six years, participants from all 50 states and 12 countries logged more than 3 million miles and raised over $223,000. Ready to make history one mile at a time? Currahee!
