The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) opens the doors of “LA:ON,” its new Global K-Zone, this Friday, October 9, 2026 — a permanent cultural space where Korean heritage and contemporary K-lifestyle meet in the heart of the Miracle Mile.
Spread across the first floors of the center and the adjacent Korea Center at 5505 Wilshire Boulevard, LA:ON invites visitors to stay, make, and participate. The program blends tradition and trend: Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, presented with the National Hangeul Museum through digital content and media art; Hanji traditional-paper lighting, furniture, and contemporary craft; plus Hanbok, K-beauty, fashion, webtoons, typography, art books, and K-food.
Opening day brings a Hanbok fashion show with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, featuring fourteen traditional and contemporary looks. On October 10, a Hangeul Day celebration with the King Sejong Institute Foundation adds a K-pop lyrics dictation contest, culture quizzes, poetry readings, Hanbok try-ons, and traditional games. The season continues with the “Beauty & Fashion” K-culture pop-up (October 13–17), Season 1 “Text-Hip” (October 27–November 14) on webtoons and typography, and Season 2 “K-Supermarket” (November 24–December 12) on K-food and everyday Korean lifestyle.
LA:ON is part of the Global K-Zone initiative of Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Admission is free; some programs require advance registration.
