Lila Downs Brings a Joyful Día de Muertos Celebration to Walt Disney Concert Hall

The Los Angeles Philharmonic is bringing one of the year’s most heartfelt celebrations to downtown Los Angeles: Grammy-winning Mexican singer Lila Downs will honor Día de Muertos with a special concert, “Cambias mi Mundo,” at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 8 p.m.

The evening unites Downs’ powerful voice with the world-renowned Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles for a joyful celebration of Mexican music, dance, and cultural traditions. The program includes songs from her 2026 album Cambias mi Mundo, beloved favorites from across her three-decade career, and traditional Mexican music — all wrapped in the colors and spirit of the Day of the Dead.

Rooted in Oaxaca and shaped between Mexico and the United States, Downs weaves Mexican tradition with jazz, cumbia, folk, and contemporary rhythms. The LA Phil describes her concerts as gatherings — intimate, fearless, and deeply human — where culture is honored, stories are reclaimed, and audiences are invited to feel, dance, and remember.

A Grammy winner and six-time Latin Grammy winner, Downs blends bolero, ranchera, banda, and mariachi with jazz, blues, pop, and soul, and she is among the 2026 Latin Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement honorees. Don’t miss this luminous night where music and memory meet in the heart of the city.
