Grand Park

A green oasis between City Hall and the Music Center — downtown LA’s front lawn is made for everyone.

Grand Park stretches 12 acres from the iconic Los Angeles City Hall to the Music Center, right in the heart of downtown. With its splashy fountain, pink tables and chairs, drought-tolerant gardens, and sweeping city views, it has become the city’s most democratic gathering place.

It is ideal for office workers on lunch break, families with kids who love the interactive fountain, and anyone who wants a free, safe, beautiful place to relax downtown. The park hosts free concerts, yoga sessions, food trucks, and holiday celebrations throughout the year.

Practical tip: the park is most magical in the late afternoon, when the light hits City Hall. Check the park’s calendar online — there is almost always a free event happening.
