Downtown Las Vegas is celebrating the women who help create its culture. “Her Story Through Art: Las Vegas Women Artists,” the latest exhibition at the Las Vegas Civic Center Gallery, brings together 17 women-identifying artists whose work shapes the city’s cultural fabric — past, present and future. The free exhibition runs through December 30, 2026, on the ground floor at 525 S. Main St.
Curated by Las Vegas Arts Commissioner Joan De Santis and Amanda “Rawky” Lozano, founder of Raw Femme Media, the show features Rita Deanin Abbey, Clarice Tara Cuda, Joy Goldstein, Nancy Good, Sze Jones, Wendy Kveck, Alina Lindquist, Marianna Romero, Julie Notaro, Cristina Natsuko Paulos, Taylor Pierce, Janel Raihl, Robin Slonina, Mad Watson, Shereene Wolford, Xochil Xitlalli and Starrr Zahra. Their work carries memory, identity and imagination forward, and the October 10 opening reception added music by DJ Lo Dino and a joyful interactive activation by Raihl and Slonina inviting guests to share uplifting messages with one another.
The celebration continues beyond the gallery walls. On November 20, “Women in Poetry x Spotlight Poetry” fills the Civic Center outdoor plaza from 6 to 8 p.m., and on December 12 the “Market in the Plaza,” a collaboration with Market in the Alley, showcases local women-owned businesses, artists and makers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays, and admission is always free, with a complimentary two-hour parking validation for the garage at 500 S. Main St. It is a warm, welcoming stop for anyone who wants to meet the Las Vegas art scene where it lives.
