Seven giant stacks of neon-painted boulders rising from the desert floor — Seven Magic Mountains is one of the most joyful public art installations in America, and it’s completely free to visit!
Created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone and located about 10 miles south of Las Vegas near Jean, the seven towers stand more than 30 feet tall, their fluorescent colors glowing against the pale desert and blue sky. It’s a beloved roadside stop that turns every photo into a celebration of color.
Perfect for families, art lovers, and social-media fans of all ages. Tip: visit in the early morning or late afternoon for the best light and smaller crowds, and bring water and sun protection — there’s no shade in the open desert.
The installation was originally planned as a two-year exhibition but proved so beloved that it was extended. There’s no admission and no gift shop pressure — just park nearby, walk up, and enjoy one of the happiest photo ops in Nevada.
