The Mob Museum Celebrates Its 5 Millionth Visitor

Downtown Las Vegas has one more reason to celebrate: The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, has just welcomed its 5 millionth visitor, a historic milestone for one of the city’s most beloved cultural institutions.

On Wednesday, September 30, the lucky guest turned out to be Lisa Brown of Hinton, Iowa, who was surprised with a celebration worthy of the occasion: lifetime admission to the museum, a ceremonial key, exclusive merchandise, and a cake and champagne toast to mark the moment.

Since opening its doors in 2012 in the restored 1933 federal courthouse and post office, the museum has become the most visited museum in Nevada, drawing more than 400,000 guests a year from all 50 states and over 50 countries. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, it has also given free admission to more than 40,000 Nevadans and brought award-winning educational programs to over 75,000 students and 6,000 seniors.

The Mob Museum is a nonprofit that tells the true stories of organized crime and law enforcement through hundreds of artifacts across four immersive floors, including the popular Underground speakeasy and distillery. Congratulations to the whole museum family — five million visits and counting!
