Beloved P.O.P.S. Neon Sign Finds a Forever Home at The Neon Museum

There is a special kind of magic in Las Vegas: the kind that glows in neon. That glow just got a little brighter! The Neon Museum, the beloved non-profit that preserves the city’s most iconic signs, has added the original neon sign from Pride of Philly Steaks (a.k.a. “P.O.P.S.”) to its permanent collection.

For more than two decades, the “P.O.P.S.” sign sat atop the restaurant’s distinctive A-frame building at 501 S. Decatur Blvd., becoming a familiar beacon for locals and visitors alike. After a recent property refresh, the sign, with its original logo, classic neon colors and vintage Las Vegas charm, found a new home where it will be treasured for generations to come.

“For many Las Vegans, signs like the P.O.P.S. sign become part of the visual landscape of their lives,” said Aaron Berger, Executive Director and CEO of The Neon Museum. “Preserving it gives us an opportunity to honor that history and the memories associated with a longtime local business.” Owner Christina Walton added that her family’s story, started by her dad in 2002, will now “continue to live on at The Neon Museum.”

The sign’s arrival was celebrated with a private friends-and-family gathering, and now it shines alongside the museum’s 2.27-acre Boneyard, a luminous archive of the people, businesses and places that shaped the city. A great reason to plan your next visit and see Las Vegas history glowing again!
