Hockey magic is back in full glow on the Las Vegas Strip. The Vegas Golden Knights will host “Welcome to Impossible Knight,” presented by Circa Sports, on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. PT at T-Mobile Arena, when the club faces the Los Angeles Kings.
The night kicks off five “Anniversary Knights” marking Season X — the franchise’s 10th season — and falls on the exact anniversary of the first home game in team history, played on October 10, 2017. It will be a joyful throwback to the inaugural 2017-18 campaign, when the Golden Knights defied every expectation and became the most successful expansion team in professional sports history.
The game will also mark the last time the team wears its original gray jerseys before they are retired from the rotation, and the first 10,000 fans through the doors will receive a commemorative puck — just like the one handed out at the franchise’s first home game in 2017.
The celebration starts even before puck drop. On Friday, October 9 at 11:30 a.m. PT, the team will hold an open practice at City National Arena, where members of the 2017-18 squad will meet fans and sign autographs. Then, from 4 to 6 p.m. PT on Saturday, the free Fan Fest at Paramount+ Plaza welcomes everyone to hear stories from inaugural-season players including James Neal, Deryk Engelland and Ryan Reaves, plus the team’s first head coach, Gerard Gallant. Historical artifacts from that magical first season will be on display, and fans can enter to win tickets to the game.
The next Anniversary Knight, “Vegas Born Knight,” arrives December 16 against the San Jose Sharks. Happy birthday, Golden Knights — the best is yet to come.
