Las Vegas is about to glow a little brighter downtown. The Neon Museum is closing out its 2026 relighting season with the historic Binion’s Horseshoe sign from the 1980s — one of the largest neon signs in the world and a defining symbol of downtown Las Vegas — and public tickets go on sale October 23.
Installed after Binion’s Horseshoe acquired the Mint Hotel and Casino in 1988, the massive display was part of a redesign collaboration between YESCO and sign designer Rudy Crisostomo, capturing the bold spectacle of an era when Las Vegas was reinventing itself. The Museum’s dedicated research team restores each sign to historically accurate condition — matching original colors from the age when the sign shone, and saving as much original tubing, metalwork and electrical components as possible.
The Binion’s relighting caps a banner year of additions to the Neon Boneyard, including The Mirage’s Siegfried & Roy bronze tiger sculpture, the beloved Mirage lagoon sign and the sign commemorating the arrival of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. “This restoration represents everything The Neon Museum stands for: preserving the artistry, ambition, and bold spirit that built Las Vegas,” said Executive Director Aaron Berger. Museum members get first access October 16–22 — then the public can grab tickets starting October 23 to watch history light up again.
