Kansas City Ballet’s 2026-27 season reads like a library of beloved tales: after opening with “The Wizard of Oz” (October 16–25), the company brings “The Nutcracker” home for the holidays (November 28–December 24), then “Pinocchio” (February 19–21, 2027) and Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” (March 12–21, 2027) to the Kauffman Center stage.
Between the story ballets, the adventurous “New Moves” showcase (January 28–31) premieres new choreography, and spring’s “PULSE” (May 14–23) brings the season to an electric close — a balance of classic and cutting-edge that defines Artistic Director Devon Carney’s company.
With its own school, Second Company and community programs, the Ballet is both a stage company and a civic institution.
Four stories, one stage, countless pointe shoes: Kansas City’s dance season is fully booked with wonder.
