A Season of Firsts: The Kansas City Symphony’s 2026-27 at Helzberg Hall

The Kansas City Symphony’s 2026-27 season doubles down on what it does best: beloved masterworks, bold guests and inventive formats in one of the world’s great concert halls.

The Classical series brings the big canvases — symphonies and concertos performed under Music Director Michael Stern with international soloists — while new wrinkles like the “Baroque at 7:00” series and the return of the free Mobile Music Box community concerts widen the orchestra’s embrace.

Pops audiences get Motown, movie nights including “Interstellar Live,” and the annual holiday celebrations that sell out Helzberg Hall every December.

Fifteen years after the Kauffman Center opened, the Symphony’s sound — praised on national broadcasts and recordings — remains Kansas City’s sonic signature. The new season is an open invitation to hear why.
