Autumn has arrived in Houston, and the Houston Zoo is celebrating in the wildest way possible! From September 25 through October 31, the whole zoo transforms into a month-long fall festival with Zoo Boo, the Zoo’s beloved family favorite presented by King & Spalding.
Little ghouls and goblins can stroll through a pumpkin tunnel, strike a pose at the 15-foot-tall fall foliage arch on Autumn Avenue, brave the Tangled Web Trail, and cheer at the Pumpkin Pitch. Back by popular demand: the Chatter Patch near the Flamingo Terrace and Gourdon and Octavius, the talking pumpkins that kids absolutely love.
On select evenings, the fun stays late! Zoo Boo Extended Hours on September 25, October 2, 9, 16-18 and 23-30 keep the gates open until 9:30 p.m. with themed nights for all ages. The animals join the party too, enjoying fall-themed enrichment all month — pumpkins, cinnamon-scented treats, and seasonal surprises.
The Zoo will also honor Día de los Muertos with a colorful ofrenda and a visit from La Catrina. All Zoo Boo activities and extended hours are included with general admission and free for Zoo members.
