Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony and Guitar Star JIJI Light Up Jones Hall October 16-18

Something magical is about to fill Jones Hall with musical fireworks: the Houston Symphony presents Mozart’s glorious Symphony No. 41, the Jupiter, in three performances October 16 through 18, 2026. Named for the king of the gods, this is Mozart’s final and most dazzling symphony, and hearing it live is an experience every music lover in Houston should treat themselves to this fall.

The weekend has another star on the bill: guitar sensation JIJI. Celebrated for her stunning virtuosity and rock-and-roll cool, she takes the spotlight in Aluminum Flowers, a concerto for both classical and electric guitar written for her by composer Steven Mackey. It is a rare chance to see a classical concert hall light up with the energy of an electric guitar.

The program opens with Stravinsky’s shimmering Symphonies of Wind Instruments, making this a full evening of bold, brilliant sound, from sparkling winds to Mozart’s majestic finale.

The concerts run Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18 at Jones Hall in downtown Houston. Gather your friends and family, and let Mozart and JIJI turn your October into pure joy. Tickets are available now through the Houston Symphony.
