Zoo Boo Brings Merry-Not-Scary Halloween Fun to the Detroit Zoo

Costumes, candy and animals — the Detroit Zoo’s Zoo Boo is back for its final October weekends, running October 16–18 and 23–25 from 3 to 8:30 p.m. in Royal Oak. The merry-not-scary celebration is designed for families who want all the Halloween magic without the frights.

Little ones can trick-or-treat along festive stations throughout the front of the zoo, meet favorite characters, enjoy live entertainment and take part in seasonal activities and giveaways. On Zoo Boo days, the zoo’s regular hours end at 2 p.m. and the grounds reopen at 3 p.m. for event guests with a separate ticket, priced at $21 to $27.

Zoo Boo is one of metro Detroit’s most popular fall family traditions, and the final weekends typically draw big crowds. Tickets and details are available at detroitzoo.org.
