Inside the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Discovery Zone is a world engineered for the museum’s youngest fans: a water table canyon to splash in, a construction quarry for building, a paleontology dig and a Colorado nature nook made for wobbly explorers ages six and under and their grown-ups.
The space anchors a family day at the museum — pair it with the wildlife halls, the gems and the giant-screen theater, and big siblings get their thrills while toddlers rule their own kingdom next door.
In City Park, with the zoo as its neighbor, the museum remains Denver’s rainy-day headquarters: the Discovery Zone is simply its happiest room.
