MCA Denver’s LUMINOCITY Gala Honors Senga Nengudi and Tina Walls on October 15

Denver’s creative community is getting ready for one of the brightest nights of the fall: the 2026 LUMINOCITY Gala at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. On Thursday, October 15, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, the Denver Design District (575 S. Broadway) will fill with artists, collectors, philanthropists, civic leaders and art lovers for an immersive evening of contemporary art, performance and culinary delights — all in support of MCA Denver’s mission.

This year’s gala honors two extraordinary women: internationally acclaimed artist, arts program developer and educator Senga Nengudi, and Tina Walls, a passionate arts advocate and longtime force behind Denver’s cultural landscape, championing Black creativity and storytelling for decades.

The night promises the unexpected, as is MCA Denver’s tradition. Guests will enjoy a progressive culinary journey with preparations from some of Colorado’s most celebrated kitchens — Brasserie Brixton, Le French, Tavernetta, Mercantile, GetRight’s Bakery and more. Then, Berlin-based Canadian artist Peaches will close the evening with a keynote afterparty performance full of energy and theatricality.

The celebration starts one night early: on Wednesday, October 14, Peaches sits down with MCA Denver director Anthony Kiendl at the Holiday Theater for a conversation about her groundbreaking multidisciplinary practice.

The dress code says it all: Rebellious & Refined. Tickets are on sale now at mcadenver.org — don’t wait, this one sells out.
