The Denver Art Museum is handing visitors the microphone. Opening October 25, 2026, Your Song is a joyful new interactive installation by Colorado artist Laura Shill that turns the museum’s Precourt Family Discovery Hall into a fully functional karaoke lounge. The installation will be on view through April 24, 2028.
Visitors step through a series of curtains into an intimate performance space inspired by a diva’s dressing room. A friendly karaoke interface and sound system make it easy to choose a song, grab the mic, and take the stage. Equal parts joy and happy nerves, the lounge offers the chance to take a risk, let your voice be heard, and connect with others through music.
Shill, a Denver-based artist whose work has been shown from the 2017 Venice Biennale to galleries across the country, creates environments that blend humor and heart. At its core, Your Song is an invitation to sing your heart out in the museum.
Best of all, the installation is included with general admission. Happy City News invites Denver to warm up those vocal cords: the stage is waiting, and the song is yours.
