Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge: Dallas’s Iconic Skyline Silhouette

Few bridges look this good. The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, designed by famed architect Santiago Calatrava, arcs over the Trinity River with a dramatic 400-foot white steel arch that has become the signature silhouette of the Dallas skyline.

Opened in 2012, the bridge carries traffic between downtown and West Dallas, but it is also a favorite for photographers and sunset watchers. A dedicated pedestrian and bicycle lane runs along its side, offering spectacular views of the river, the skyline, and the sparkling Trinity Groves district on the far bank.

It is ideal for walkers, cyclists, and anyone chasing the perfect Dallas photo. The bridge is especially magical at golden hour, when the white arch glows against the sky. Tip: walk it at dusk and finish your stroll with dinner in Trinity Groves, just across the river on the other side.
