The McNay Art Museum, the first modern art museum in Texas, is throwing a party for the whole family. On Sunday, November 1, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, the museum opens its doors wide for McNay Family Day: Passport to Art, a free afternoon celebration packed with color, creativity and joy.
The family day celebrates the museum’s enchanting fall exhibition, “Sandy Skoglund: Enchanting Nature,” the American artist’s whimsical, dreamlike installations that turn ordinary scenes into magical worlds. Families can dive into Skoglund’s playful vision with hands-on art activities designed for kids of all ages, plus games and live performances throughout the afternoon.
Set on the McNay’s beautiful 23-acre Spanish Colonial Revival estate, the event is the perfect excuse for a family outing: explore the galleries, wander the sculpture garden, and let the little ones discover art by making their own. Admission for the family day is completely free, so the only thing you need to bring is your imagination.
Mark your calendar: Sunday, November 1, 2026, 1:00–4:00 pm at the McNay Art Museum, 6000 N New Braunfels Ave in San Antonio. A free, happy afternoon where art belongs to everyone.
