Thanks-Giving Square: Dallas’s Peaceful Garden of Gratitude

Hidden among the downtown skyscrapers is one of Dallas’s most serene spots: Thanks-Giving Square, a garden dedicated to the simple, powerful idea of gratitude. Opened in 1976, it welcomes people of every faith and background.

The square’s crown jewel is the Chapel of Thanksgiving, a striking white spiral tower whose interior glows with one of the largest stained-glass windows in the world — the Glory Window, a rainbow spiral celebrating the human spirit. Quiet paths, fountains, and mosaic walls invite visitors to slow down and reflect.

It is perfect for anyone seeking a moment of calm in the middle of the city, as well as architecture lovers and photographers. Admission is free. Tip: step inside the chapel, look straight up, and let the light of the Glory Window do the talking — it is one of the most uplifting rooms in Texas.
