National Geographic Live Caravan of Curiosities Brings ‘Being a Grizzly Bear’ to Chicago

Chicago science fans have a rare date to mark on the calendar. On Monday, November 2, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Harris Theater for Music and Dance — in collaboration with National Geographic Live — presents Being a Grizzly Bear: Up Close with a Legend of the Wild, a Caravan of Curiosities event inside the theater at 205 E. Randolph Street in Millennium Park.

Ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Rae Wynn-Grant and wildlife photographer-filmmaker Andy Mann bring a legendary grizzly — captured as a cub for research — to vivid life, following her journey raising three cubs of her own. With never-before-seen photographs, videos and films, the evening explores the boundary between science and entertainment and reveals both the beauty of wildlife and the work of conserving it.

Tickets are available through the Harris Theater box office. Happy City News readers can plan an early downtown evening around the talk, with Millennium Park and the Loop’s dining scene just steps away.
