A Castle Full of Costumes and Secret Tunnels Awaits Chicago Kids at Navy Pier

Chicago families have a royal adventure waiting at Navy Pier: ‘Castle,’ the hit temporary exhibition at Chicago Children’s Museum, invites young knights, queens and explorers to step inside a storybook fortress built entirely for play.

Running through January 10, 2027, the exhibition hides secret tunnels to crawl through, a rope bridge to cross, a tower to climb and even a dungeon and a throne room to discover. Hundreds of costumes let children dress the part, and the castle changes with the seasons, with special transformations planned for fall and winter — so a return visit feels like a brand-new quest.

Presented by Shriners Children’s, Castle joins the museum’s beloved permanent favorites across three floors of hands-on fun, from the splashes of Water City to the sky-high Cloud Buster climbing sculpture.

Chicago Children’s Museum’s mission is to create a community where play and learning connect — and inside this castle, every turret and tunnel does exactly that, one imagination at a time.
