Boston’s running scene just got even brighter! The Boston Athletic Association has welcomed standout distance runner Rosina Machu to its B.A.A. High Performance Team, the Boston-based professional squad coached by Mark Carroll and supported by the B.A.A. and adidas.
Machu arrives with a glittering collegiate résumé. The Boise, Idaho native earned five NCAA All-American honors at Gonzaga University — in the 5,000m, 10,000m and cross country — along with two West Coast Conference titles and WCC Runner of the Year honors. She holds Gonzaga school records at every distance from the 1,500m through the 10,000m, and capped her college career with 11th and 20th place finishes at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
“I’m incredibly grateful and excited to be a part of the B.A.A. High Performance Team,” Machu said. Coach Carroll is just as enthusiastic: “She will be a strong addition to our team, and we look forward to her representing the unicorn uniform soon.”
Boston fans won’t have to wait long to cheer her on — Machu will represent the B.A.A. at the Boston 10K for Women on October 11 and in cross country throughout the fall. The High Performance program develops American runners toward the sport’s biggest stages: the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, and Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Welcome to Boston, Rosina!
